The Ledger Office Building in Bentonville, AR offers a fresh approach to connecting the workplace with the community. Their solution, the world’s first bikeable building designed to be community-centric by focusing on providing public access and amenities in the heart of Downtown Bentonville. The six-story high-rise structure features a 3/8th-mile-long bike ramp that winds up and around the building from the ground to the sixth floor.
This project required a trusted solution to construct ramps that functioned simultaneously as sidewalks, roofs, and bike paths while also being weather resistant and matching the building’s aesthetic. American Hydrotech is proud to have been called in to provide Monolithic Membrane 6125 in a split slab assembly providing watertightness across 42,000 square feet to ensure the integrity of the building envelope. Winding up the bike path you will find various art installations of mosaic insects embedded into the concrete by the artist Stefan Sagmeister.
