Redmond, a suburb of Seattle and the home of Microsoft® corporate headquarters, is a prime example of how quickly cities can change. The look and feel of this small city has been transformed seemingly overnight by the appearance of several new office buildings and condominiums.

Lake Ridge Square was one of Redmond’s many transformations. Expanded and rebuilt from 1999 - 2001, the new development consists of four buildings with paved and landscaped plazas in between.

Pre-leased to Microsoft, the new Lake Ridge was built for enduring efficiency. Metzler North America, the developer, was insistent that Seattle's rain stay where it belongs - outside. And, the highly visible plazas would need to be attractive and
durable. Hydrotech’s Ultimate Assembly® was a fitting single source solution. Combining high-performance Monolithic Membrane 6125® waterproofing and sturdy, eye-catching architectural pavers, the Ultimate Assembly even drains quickly due to its open joint configuration. And the pavers, which are available in a wide variety of colors and textures, lift easily out of place to facilitate subsurface maintenance.

The quality of the Hydrotech waterproofing/paver system used on the plaza is mirrored throughout the project - a fact recognized by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), which nominated Lake Ridge Square as the year 2000 office development of the year in its area.
